Let’s bring their smile back!

Key words: Nonprofit, Health, Hygiene, Education, Children. Soap, Fundraising, Conservation, Protected areas, Mission.

Imagine living in a village in the heart of protected areas with one simple public school and a river nearby to meet your needs including washing.

Several Non-profits intervened to raise awareness on Education, Health and Hygiene.  Where the knowledge gap is found, how do community members benefit from the education and training they receive without practice and access to sanitary toolkits (called WASH Packs).

The Madagascar Soap Project led a mission called Soap Making Access for Rural Areas. The main goal is to bring global knowledge locally with a soap making tutorial that you followed in YouTube channel or another platform online. We traveled to spread this information by walking or getting into a small bus with a famous name “Taxi brousse,” to the villages. Once there, MSP’s team of  soap technicians is ready for noble adventures.

In December 2022, as a Christmas gift for a community, MSP research technicians went to the village of Sahavondronina, a highland village about one hour drive from the city of Fianarantsoa, to check in with the community volunteer leader of MSP named Zaka, who has worked with MSP since 2018.

A Farmer by trade, Zaka likes innovation and is a young leader in his village who is familiar with Non-Profit intervention programs. He is thrilled to engage in soap training to be a part of something bigger than himself. We taught him how to make soap in his own community,  spreading the benefit of hygiene education to his neighbors. A fast learner, it only took one day for Zaka to reinforce his skills. Now, he is eager to transform his skills into action by preparing to train a group of women in the village, with the help of the MSP team, on soap making.  He claimed, “If you can help me more by providing some tools that don’t exist in the village like a kitchen scale, and some potassium hydroxide to start, I can make a nice soap. Our village is rich in biodiversity, and aromatic plants, so I could create something beautiful.

They will build their own cooperative to make a small shop in the village with affordable prices for the community. One key benefit of soap made with locally sourced ingredients is a cost-effective product.  From there, MSP can reinforce their training and follow up on their activities with your help. Our devoted team is ready to engage with communities like Sahavondronina to spread hope and empower local practitioners.

This revolutionary art will bring improved health and wellness to villages in proximity to Eco Tourism and Conservation as this zone is considered as a village in the protected areas.

We believe in your generosity and kindness, but more than that, if a young Malagasy student who struggles with basic needs everyday can offer time and skills to build a better community for the Global Youth Network, don’t we enable that motivated individual?

Your donation can lead us to a better village in health and harmony.

Our goal is to collect a minimum of $500 for the follow up program with Zaka’s village to reinforce soap making in the community. Please donate on our website today, www.madasoapproject.com
